Mandi is a compassionate, empathic and effective communicator with excellent listening and interpersonal skills. She is a highly qualified Chinese Medicine Practitioner, motivated and dedicated towards her profession. Mandi focuses on an integrative medicine approach and possesses strong research skills.
Mandi has a Bachelor of Health Science (Chinese Medicine), majoring in both Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine.
Prior to studying Chinese Medicine and Naturopathy, Mandi completed a Bachelor of Biomedical Science (Psychology major) at Monash University. Mandi is registered with AHPRA, is a member of the Australian Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine Association (AACMA) and also registered with all major health funds enabling her patients to access private health insurance rebates.
She continues to enrich her knowledge with professional development courses in conjunction with reading journals and literature research.
Mandi has a special interest in women’s health including:
• pre-conception care
• polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS)
• post-natal care
• pre-menstrual syndrome (PMS)
Mandi has extensive training and experience in IVF support, as well as with male infertility.
Mandi has worked in a Drug and Alcohol Rehabilitation Centre giving her experience in drug withdrawal, addiction, depression, insomnia and mental illness. She draws upon her background in psychology and counselling if required.
Assessing the patient holistically based on the principles of Chinese Medicine, Mandi is experienced in treating a wide range of disorders as:
• cold or flu and low immunity
• musculoskeletal problems
• headaches and migraine
• skin disorders
• digestive complaints
• autoimmune conditions
Mandi’s passion is in Chinese Medicine and she has an integrative approach to diagnosis and treatment. She integrates and blends the philosophies and empirical knowledge of Traditional Chinese Medicine with the research and modern advancements of Western Medicine.
Mandi’s acupuncture technique is effective, gentle and may incorporate cupping and moxibustion (heat therapy) to rebalance and harmonise the body’s internal systems and function to encourage and restore its natural state of balance and wellbeing.
Mandi is very passionate about educating her patients to use ‘food as medicine,’ as she integrates her extensive knowledge in both nutrition and Chinese dietary therapy to provide personalised dietary advice.
Mandi loves collaborating with her patients’ other health care practitioners and her caring and professional approach makes her a valued member of the NEST team.
Chinese Medicine recognises that health is much more than the absence of disease. As an integrative practitioner Mandi strives to empower her patients with an appreciation and understanding of their own health and for the prevention of illness.
Mandi loves spending time with her husband and three kids, travelling, throwing parties, going for long walks with friends and cooking wholesome food.
