Dr Kashyap is an Obstetrician and Gynaecologist practising in the south eastern suburbs of Melbourne. Graduating in medicine from Monash University in 1989, he commenced specialist training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in 1995 at the Royal Women’s Hospital, continuing his training at the National Maternity Hospital in Holles St, Dublin, and at Monash Medical Centre in Clayton, Victoria. He commenced private practice after receiving his specialist qualifications in April 2001.
Professional Interests and Areas of Expertise
Dr Kashyap offers a full range of gynaecology services, including laparoscopic surgery, and obstetric care. He served a term as chairman of the Victorian Regional Committee of the RANZCOG and is passionately committed to education. He was on the organising committee of the RANZCOG conference in Melbourne and also lectures and mentors Monash University students.
Having managed thousands of pregnancies, ranging from completely normal to extremely complicated, Dr Kashyap continues to maintain a public commitment at Monash Medical Centre including running the ECV (External Cephalic Version clinic) for many years.

After growing up in country Victoria, Tom moved to Melbourne to study a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery at Monash University. After completing speciality training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Monash Health, he completed his fellowship in advanced reproductive and reconstructive pelvic surgery with the Australasian Gynaecological Endoscopy and Surgery Society (AGES). During this time, Tom was awarded the prestigious AGES travelling fellowship, which took him to Chicago to work with Dr Charles Miller, an internationally renowned expert in the treatment of infertility and minimally invasive gynaecological surgery.
On completion of his fellowship with AGES, Tom continued training in reproductive medicine and fertility treatment at the Royal Women’s Hospital and Melbourne IVF, whilst also completing a Masters in reproductive medicine at the University of New South Wales.
Having completed this extra surgical training, Tom is now a leading surgical gynaecologist in Australia, specialising in minimally invasive surgery including single incision laparoscopic surgery. He is a senior clinician at the Gynaecology Endosurgery Unit, Monash Health, and at the Reproductive Services Unit, the Royal Women’s Hospital.
Tom is a practicing Obstetrician at Cabrini Hospital in Malvern, Waverley Private Hospital in Mt Waverley and Jessie McPherson Private Hospital in Clayton, allowing patients the opportunity to continue care from conception through to delivery.
Tom is popular amongst patients for his flexibility, friendly nature and down to earth approach to patient care.
