NEST is the brainchild of perinatal psychiatrists, Dr Sam Margis and Dr Fran Arcuri who saw the need for a clinic that was able to provide all the necessary services for growing families under the one roof!


NEST is a wonderful multi-disciplinary clinic dedicated to providing exceptional mental and physical health care to people of all ages across all life cycles.

Our clinic is bustling, with a large and diverse patient base, ensuring a steady demand for GP services—we even have a waitlist most days! We pride ourselves on being a true multidisciplinary practice, featuring a wide range of specialists and Allied Health clinicians, including Psychiatrists (10), Psychologists (12), as well as Paediatricians, Physiotherapists, Lactation Consultants, and Dietitians.


We provide onsite pathology and convenient parking, along with regular professional development opportunities, such as our bi-monthly Grand Rounds and various social events. Led by our Principal GP, Dr. Amanda Scott, our team includes a strong network of nursing and administrative professionals.

Medical Receptionist


Role Description

We are looking for a receptionist to join the team on a part time or full-time basis (some weekend work if available too).


Responsibilities

  • Open and close the clinic as per set procedure.
  • Welcome patients and other visitors to NEST in a warm and courteous manner and notify the appropriate staff of their arrival.
  • Inform patients in advance of any anticipated delays to see their clinician and ensure they are comfortable in the meantime. 
  • Oversee all patient registration paperwork including registration of new patients and the regular updating of registration data for existing patients. 
  • Answer telephone calls promptly and courteously.
  • Oversee regular daily correspondence and respond to all internal and external emails promptly and courteously.     
  • Record and pass on messages to staff in a timely manner.
  • Make appointments for patients according to set procedures for each NEST clinical service.
  • Scan and/or file patient related documentation such as letters, reports, test results, etc.. in the correct section of the medical record, taking care to ensure that documents are scanned in the correct record and can be read clearly.
  • Process all Medicare accounts.
  • Manage cancellations and non-attendance as per set NEST protocol and procedures.

Selection Requirements (Desirable)

  • Previous experience in healthcare administration is a plus.
  • Certification in medical assisting or related field is beneficial.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Knowledge of ‘Best Practice’ medical software.
  • CPR/Basic Life Support training and/or experience.
  • Experience in a mental health environment.

Practice Nurse


Qualifications & experience

  • Bachelor of Nursing degree or higher qualification (Div 1 RN)
  • Immunisation Accredited
  • Current AHPRA Nursing registration
  • Computer literacy is required. Experience with Best Practice is advantageous.
  • Experience adhering to infection control guidelines, vaccine cold chain storage principles, occupational health and safety principles and general practice accreditation standards.
  • Current National Police and Working with Children Checks
